As the spring gets closer, so does the new running season and this year, the Calgary Police Half Marathon will be celebrating its 40th edition.
The event, which was first held back in 1980, offers Calgary runners and walkers a way to kick off the season. Both police officers and the general public are encouraged to get involved, and a half marathon, 10k run and 5k walk or run are all on the agenda.
The registration fee for the activity will depend upon which run or walk the participant selects, and the fee includes entry in the race as well as refreshments, a finisher's medal and technical running shirt that has been printed with a special Logo Design. To help celebrate the activity’s 40th year, organizers have released 500 shirts that are printed with a retro-inspired design, and these will be given to the first 500 to sign up for the fundraiser.
The funds collected from the registration fees will be utilized by Calgary Police Services to administer its youth and other community programming. The final date to sign up for the run will be April 23rd.
This festive opening to another season for Calgary’s runners will be held on April 26th. The staging area can be found at Mount Royal Gate Southwest.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
