The Calgary Humane Society has asked dogs and their humans to get walking for a cause, and as they go, they will be helping raise funds for animals in need.
Registrations for the 2021 Dog Jog are now being accepted, and in an effort to make sure the function is safe for all who get involved, it will be a virtual activity. It is hoped that hundreds will take part, and everyone who does so will be able to walk wherever they choose.
The Humane Society has made plans to offer those who sign up a behind-the-scenes look at its operations and its resident companion animals, and there will also be prize draws for an assortment of Corporate Gifts. This virtual function can be accessed by desktop, laptop or mobile device, and all support will be welcome.
The monies collected from the walk will be used to care for the society’s charges, as well as to undertake public awareness initiatives and other programming. Last year, the activity was able to raise $72,000 for the cause, it is hoped this year will be an even bigger success.
The 2021 Calgary Dog Jog has been scheduled to hit the city’s roads, parks and sidewalks on June 5th. The Humane Society has updated its website with the most current details about the fundraiser.
