Jobs fair showcases local opportunity

Jobseekers and employers alike are set to benefit from an upcoming Jobs Fair, which is to be hosted by the City of Rockingham, with support from the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce.

The fair, to be held at the Gary Holland Community Centre, will provide a platform for local businesses and organisations, government departments and education providers to showcase local employment and training opportunities. Billed as being suitable for all ages, sectors, skill sets and career stages, the fair will offer those looking for opportunities real-world advice, HR tips and information on apprenticeships. A jobs board, as well as workshops and demonstrations, form part of the event programme.

The jobs fair is an initiative of the City of Rockingham’s Economic Development Strategy 2020-2025, and businesses are invited to host a stall at no cost. Stall holder enquiries can be made to the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce, which is the top industry body for the Rockingham business community. Business Cards are often a popular promotional tool for networking within business associations and when manning promotional stalls.

In addition to local business owners and managers, the fair is recommended for school leavers, those seeking to re-enter the workforce and those looking to retrain, secure a new position or simply learn more about a job of interest.

The Rockingham Jobs Fair will take place from 9am to 3pm on 23 June. Admission is free, and there will be prize draws for attendees, in addition to food stalls at the venue.
