Footscray residents with a flair for photography aged from 12 to 25 are invited to enter the Phoenix Photography Competition.
The competition is an opportunity for young photographers to gain valuable exposure to the photography industry, and it also gives them a platform in which to showcase their work.
The theme of the competition is “Change”, and photographers are encouraged to explore the challenges and difficulties that often come with this theme.
Photographers can submit entries in one of two categories – artists aged 12-17 years old and artists aged 18-25 years old. In each category, three winners will be selected. First place will be awarded $200, second place $150 and third place $100. The winning entries will also be featured in a public exhibition in the City of Maribyrnong, which will take place in early 2021.
The judging panel will consist of professional photographers and staff from the City of Maribyrnong. Entrants under the age of 18 must have their parents’ or guardians’ permission to enter the competition.
Photographers will often use printing services to create Business Cards to distribute among clients and those interested in their photography services.
The Phoenix Photography Competition opened in early December, and entries will be accepted up until Monday, March 1, 2021.For more information, visit the Maribyrnong City Council website or the Phoenix Youth Centre website.
