Footscray youngsters to enjoy story time at home

Although the Maribyrnong Libraries, including Footscray, are currently closed, local toddlers and pre-schoolers will not miss out on story time, with plenty of ‘Story Time at Home’ sessions scheduled for the month of September.

Bilingual Story Time at Home features songs, rhymes and stories in English, Hindu and Vietnamese, and is accessible on the Maribyrnong City Council’s YouTube channel. Weekly programs are uploaded every Thursday afternoon and content is aimed at those children aged five and under.

The Baby Rhyme Time at Home program is for children aged two and under, and new content is uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Story Time at Home caters for three to five-year-olds and involves songs and rhymes, as well as stories. New stories are uploaded on Monday and Friday mornings. The library also offers Vietnamese Story Time at Home programs that are uploaded to YouTube each Wednesday morning.

A special bedtime event – Pyjama Story Time – will also be held on Zoom each Wednesday evening during September. Reservations for this story time are essential.

Libraries often use utilise services to Print Banners and Posters to promote events such as Story Time, as larger printed items attract the attention of children as well as parents.
