An upcoming five-a-side hockey event this winter will be a first for Footscray.
A brand-new event is arriving in Footscray in June called the 2024 Hockey 5s Carnival.
The three-day celebration of the sport of hockey will run over the long weekend and is inviting all from in and around the area to attend.
Organisers of local sporting events sometimes enlist the expert help of poster printing services to create attractive advertisements that encourage members of the public to participate and show off their skills.
Ideal for players of all abilities and ages in Footscray, the event will feature masters, seniors and junior divisions. Hockey5s combines all the game principles and skills of hockey, but features fewer players and less space.
There are also rebound boards based on each side of the court presenting a range of varied tactical options compared to other formats of field hockey.
Teams will consist of one goalkeeper and four field players, and the field is 24 metres wide and 40 metres in length.
2024 Hockey 5s Carnival will take place at the Footscray Hockey Club from Saturday, June 8 to Monday, June 10. The club can be found at McIvor Reserve on Fogarty Avenue in Yarraville, Footscray, and the event will run from 8am to 5pm each day.
Registration for the event will close on Monday, May 6.
