Footscray music fans to hear popular alt-rock group

An alternative rock band from America will be stopping by Melbourne on their epic tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Those who love the music of the Dandy Warhols in Footscray will be able to see them perform live on stage this coming April.

The US alt-rock band are embarking on an antipodean tour to showcase their latest album called “Rockmaker”, which is set for release just a month before, in March.

The Dandy Warhols are renowned for their electric live performances, both visually and sonically, and Australia holds one of the group's most devoted and biggest fan bases, a relationship that began with their first visit to the country in 1998. Playing a mix of synth and power pop infused with psychedelic rock, the band are regarded as true pioneers of the alternative music scene.

The band have racked up more than 250 million streams from six EPs, 10 studio albums and 27 singles, and have graced the stage of major festivals from Splendour in the Grass in Australia, to Glastonbury and Meltdown in the UK.

The Dandy Warhols will play the Forum Melbourne on Sunday, April 28. The venue is sited at 154 Flinders Street in Melbourne.
