Footscray music fans to enjoy yacht rock

A musical tribute band performing in a yacht rock style are set to perform live in Footscray later this year.

A cover band known as Yacht Rock Revival will be playing Footscray’s Hotel Westwood to transport audience members back to the 1970s and 1980s. Hotels, concert halls, clubs and other venues hosting live performances sometimes use expert poster printing services to promote upcoming acts and encourage attendance.

“Yacht rock” is the affectionate name for 70s and 80s guitar-oriented music that is well-constructed, soulful, melodic, smooth and typically expertly played. Examples of yacht rock artists include the Doobie Brothers, fronted by Michael McDonald, Steely Dan and The Emotions, to name but a few.

An eight-piece musical group of talented players, Yacht Rock Revival provides an authentic experience for audience members attending its shows. Band members perform dressed and styled with the hair and clothing of the decades where the songs hail from.

Music fans coming down to the show will get a chance to hear a wide range of classic tracks performed live, which may include “Africa” by Toto, “Afternoon Delight” by Starland Vocal Band and “Caribbean Queen” by Billy Ocean, among others.

Yacht Rock Revival are set to take to the stage and perform at the Hotel Westwood, located at 28 Napier Street in Footscray, on June 25.
