Footscray art lovers invited to exhibition

Artists and art lovers in Footscray are being invited to a special exhibition aimed at exploring the boundaries between comfort and discomfort.

Featuring the work of 28 individual artists spread across three rooms, the works on display at the “COZY. Exhibition” will offer viewers an exploration of what influences people’s collective sense of comfort.

Organised by Platform Exhibitions and hosted by Meat Market Stables, this event is intended to provide relief for the local art and music community. As an organisation that also values the celebration of Indigenous Korrie art and culture, 20% of all proceeds from the night will also be going to help support the Koorie Heritage Trust. Art exhibitions such as this can benefit from poster printing to help advertise to potential attendees.

Last year’s event, hosted in honour of International Women’s Day, collected together the works of 15 artists and 2 DJs, and it saw nearly 300 attendees through the door. It is hoped that this year’s bigger collection will continue that success, and it will also see two bands and four DJs provide music throughout.

The COZY. Exhibition is scheduled for Sunday, 28th November, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Meat Market Stables. Spaces are limited and bookings are essential, with entry times staggered to allow the venue to maximise capacity and meet state COVID restrictions. Guests will need to be fully vaccinated, and proof of vaccination status will need to be sighted at the door.
