Footscray area welcomes flagship festival

Victoria’s most prominent cultural event will make a welcome return to Melbourne later this year.

Rising is considered the state of Victoria’s flagship festival for music, art, food, and culture and will now return to the coastal capital of Melbourne in June. Families and friends from Footscray and other suburbs are invited to attend the moonlit event, which will feature an extensive programme of 185 different events.

Organisers of major state-wide festivals often obtain assistance from professional brochure printing services to create informative Booklets for guests that list all events taking place and where to find them.

The festival will feature a fortnight of dance, theatre, international and local music, and public performance. There will also be mass participation projects, including an orchestra of 10,000 kazoo players. Over two weeks, Melbourne’s theatres, car parks, town squares, train stations, streets and churches will be transformed into events spaces, where over 400 artists will perform, including 12 different world premieres and 35 commissioned projects.

Major music venues will also be participating, including Melbourne Recital centre, the Forum and Max Watts. Featured artists at these venues include Weyes Blood, Flying Lotus, and punk maestros the Damned.

Rising will run from June 7 until June 18 in and around Melbourne. The hub of the festival will be Melbourne Town Hall which is located at 90 to 130 Swanston Street in Melbourne. General admission tickets are now on sale.
