Bi-annual blacksmith festival to return to Tottenham area

The Blacksmiths Festival Association will once again bring together thousands of attendees to the banks of the Maribyrnong River near Tottenham. The community event showcases the art of metalworking, offering demos, artist stalls, professional talks and beginners’ workshops.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the open area metal art exhibition, sample a range of festival bar and food stalls, watch the roving performers throughout the day, entertain the children with the “kid-smith zone”, or take part in the give-it-a-go public forging sessions.

Highlights of the festival will include the collaborative sculpture project created by a team of experienced blacksmiths live on site during the festival, plus live demonstrations from a range of blacksmiths and metal artists.

The festival also features a range of activities for professional and hobbyist blacksmiths and metal artists, including the 150mm forging challenge, artist talks from the festival’s featured artists and a Saturday evening networking event closed to the public.

The Blacksmiths Festival is a free event. Attracting thousands of attendees, the festival is predominantly run by a team of dedicated volunteers. Organisations often use branded clothing to denote volunteer staff during this type of community event. Solid colour shirts prominently featuring the event or organisation's Logo Design are commonly used to identify staff from attendees.

The Blacksmiths Festival will return this year on Saturday, 17 May and run until Sunday, 18 May.
