Footscray is set to host an extensive programme of events as part of this year’s Due West Arts Festival.
According to Mayor Cr Martin Zakharov, the impressive list will showcase the area’s talented, thriving, diverse and rich arts community. Maribyrnong City Council will present the festival with Footscray Community Arts Centre producing the entire event to encompass ‘Voice, Sound and Music’ through unforgettable and imaginative arts experiences.
The festival will feature many special events, performances, music, tours, films, workshops, installations, exhibitions, markets and parties. Flyer and brochure printing are often used to advertise many events held in the city and the host venues.
The programme, which is to run from November 15-24, will incorporate everything from a night of music, puppets and debauchery at the Snuff Party, to the riotous chat show with the Children of the Evolution. It will also host a historical tour of Footscray with former Mayor Bill Horrocks and his wife Heather.
A celebration of the West’s many cultural communities will also be presented by a troupe of not-for-profit, emerging hip hop enthusiasts called KITH.
Mayor Zakharov congratulated the producers of Due West 2019 as well as participants, volunteers, staff, venues, artists and the Footscray Community Arts Centre for putting together such a diverse and interesting programme.
