More and more women in Australia are starting their own businesses, according to the latest statistics over 30% of small businesses in the country are owned by women. With this in mind, the Melbourne Business Network presents the annual Women in Business lunch. Women business leaders in nearby Footscray are probably planning to attend; this event is also a chance to network with other women leaders, and should provide ample opportunity to take advantage of business card printing in Footscray to ensure that they have enough to hand out to any new contacts.
The theme of this year’s Women in Business lunch is Influential Women in Melbourne. The event will take place at Myer Mural Hall on October 28 from 11:30 am until 3 pm. Tickets cost $92.50 each or $924 for a table of 10. The admission price includes a 2-course meal with wine or a non-alcoholic soft drink and a gift bag.
There will be four Melbourne business women speaking at the luncheon: Jennifer Westacott, CEO of the Business Council of Australia; Betty King, Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria; Amy McPartian, General Manager of the Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust; and Elizabeth Chong, a Chinese food industry expert and author. Ms. McPartian will be presenting a tribute to opera singer Dame Nellie Melba. In addition to the speakers there will be a Milliners’ Association parade and a photo exhibit by Liz Loh-Taylor.
Women business leaders will not only get a chance to hear some highly successful women speak; they will also have to chance to network with their peers in business.
