Narre Warren receives funding boost

The south-eastern suburbs of Narre Warren, Cranbourne North and Pearcedale are set to benefit from a $3.5 million funding grant to address infrastructure needs in these fast-growing communities.

City of Casey CEO Glenn Patterson, GSF Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff and the Victorian Minister for Local Government Shaune Leane met at Littlecraft Family Resource Centre in Narre Warren South to announce the funding.

A share of the funds will go to three long-awaited community projects in the City of Casey. The Littlecraft Family Resource Centre is one project that will benefit. The centre will receive a total of $1.3 million, with $917,000 coming from the grant and the remaining balance from the council. The money is from the Victorian Government’s 2021-22 Growing Suburbs Fund (GSF), which is open to 16 Victorian councils.

The popular centre currently offers kindergarten, maternal and child health services. The facilities in the centre will be upgraded and will also provide larger meeting spaces, allowing a broader programme to be offered.

Administrators of the fund believe that the government funding will allow fast-growing municipalities with ageing infrastructure the opportunity to invest in their communities. The investment should make a difference to many of the families currently living in these suburbs. Brochure printing can be used to effectively communicate detailed plans and upgrades to community facilities.

The start dates for the community projects have been set for early 2022.
