Aussie icon to bring British hits to Narre Warren
Australian stage and screen star John Waters will be bringing his latest show, Radio Luxembourg, to Narre Warren. Featuring performers Stewart D’Arrietta and the Chartbusters, Radio Luxemburg celebrates the pop-rock hits from the ‘British Invasion’ music scene in the 1960s.
Prior to starting his career as a star of the Australian stage and screen in the ‘70s, the UK born Waters got his start as a singer and bass player for The Riots, a blues band based in London during the thriving music scene of the ‘60s. Radio Luxembourg relives these glory days, featuring hits from some of the most popular performers of the era, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, the Bee Gees, The Moody Blues, Steppenwolf and The Kinks. Named after the loophole that allowed ‘60s era UK pop and rock music to circumvent commercial radio licencing restrictions, the show walks audiences through a musical timeline of the era, interspersed by Waters’ stories, anecdotes and memories.
Music venues often turn to poster printing services to promote upcoming shows, displaying posters featuring key ticket, time and performer information throughout the venue.
John Waters Radio Luxembourg featuring Stewart D’Arrietta and the Chartbusters will come to Narre Warren’s Bunjil Place at 8 pm on Friday, October 10, for 2 hours of classic British pop and rock anthems.
