Montague opens modern new complex to public
A new retail and hospitality facility at fresh produce company Montague’s Narre Warren headquarters opened its doors for the first time recently.
According to Montague's Chief Innovation Officer, Rowan Little, the project is an important step in Montague's operation, both now and as it progresses through the 21st century. The opening of the new facilities comes after five years of inspired and dedicated planning. He added:
Montague is among the largest of Australia's fruit growers, and its multi-use facility sits on 12 hectares. The project is being undertaken in stages, with the 53,200sqm facility for processing fruit being the first to be completed, with other features ranging from a cafe and retail space to a sales area for stone fruit and apples.
The facility is innovative, modern and extends over three buildings and entrances. A trend-setting centre for visitors is complemented by the operational side, which benefits from a cool store that is automated and a processing area where robots are used to retrieve fruit from the large graded bins.
Fascinating venues such as this are often highlighted in brochure printing campaigns targeting visitors and tourists to the area.
The Orchard also offers visitors a chance to ride a bike to onsite attractions, such as Stella's Kitchen, or to personally pick their own fruit from a special 2,000-strong orchard of trees.

"The new hospitality and retail facility, The Orchard, will allow us to educate consumers on the origin and production of Apples and Pears in Australia."
