Arts Society painters Mike Maddox, Anne Collins, Judi Roberts and Karen Bishop have all created works featuring local identities, with most of the subjects easily recognised. Local printing services have even produced 500 trail maps to assist in finding the works, many of which are hanging in Kilvington Drive shops and businesses. The works include photography, drawings and paintings in an array of styles.
An enthused Anne Collins said:
“The project has been an absolute success with the team already planning another show next year. They’re all worth seeing.”
The Emerald Arts Society has grown from its humble beginnings in 1969 into a major source of learning and inspiration for the local community and beyond. The present premises, within walking distance of the town centre, consist of a studio gallery, leadlight studio, Print studio and more. Currently, EAS conducts classes in the visual arts, photography, wordsmiths, and even a theatre night every month. EAS is a veritable smorgasbord of opportunity for Print companies to provide quality catalogue and Stationery printing, featuring well-known local identities.
Art remains the backbone of Melbourne’s identity, with the EAS at the forefront of innovation in attracting a whole new generation to this cultural oasis. Narre Warren artists are ideally situated to take advantage of the EAS facility.
