Workers in disability services are offered the opportunity to attend a full-day workshop in Narre Warren to learn person-centred thinking tools and skills to use in their workplace helping people navigate the NDIS.
The aim of the NDIS is to improve access to support services for people living with a disability through customised programs. As each client’s needs are different, the support that they need will need to be personal. Programs such as this often use the services of Stationery printers.
This workshop will teach participants to recognise what is important to an individual client and what kinds of support they would like. It will also explain how to record this information and how to use it to create goals and plan actions through person-centred thinking.
Identifying a client’s needs and goals will help them plan the services they want to access. Monitoring progress and recording advancement towards goals will also be covered.
The workshop is aimed at managers, leaders and frontline staff of disability service providers.
The workshop will take place at Bunjil Place, 2 Patrick Northeast Drive, Narre Warren on Friday 24th March. The venue has wheelchair access. Registration is from 9.15am for a 9.30am start. The cost of the workshop has been subsidised by the Victorian government through its Transition Support Package so NDS members will pay $50 and non-members $75.
