Casey ARC undergoes major redevelopment

The Casey Aquatic and Recreation Centre (ARC) in Narre Warren has undergone significant redevelopment.

The highly corrosive nature of the environment in the aquatic centre had caused degradation of the structure over time, resulting in the need for major structural work. The redevelopment cost more than $3.47 million, with a completely new roof and upgraded solar panels installed to help the facilities plant and equipment to run in a more environmentally friendly manner, and to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the centre.

In addition, the latest work and refurbishments of the male and female change rooms in 2020, and a complete repainting of the centre, means a fresh new look for the community.

The ARC, run by the YMCA, is one of the council’s busiest facilities that runs learn to swim programs for the community. The centre also offers invaluable opportunities for exercise and recreation. In addition to the aquatic activities at the centre, the children's playground and outdoor area, closed for safety reasons during building works, has reopened. Sport and recreation facilities like this often find banner printing useful to promote and direct users to locations and services in redeveloped centres.

Both the council and YMCA staff have been involved in the preparation for the reopening. More information on the redevelopment can be found on the City of Casey website.
