A festival dedicated to jazz and blues music is bound for Geelong this year featuring an abundance of musical artists and popular local events venues.
The Geelong Jazz & Blues Festival is coming to the suburb this autumn. Taking place over two days at five different venues, the festival will include more than 40 performances from skilled musicians. A tribute to home grown talent, the event will showcase emerging new artists from across the nation.
The upcoming festival is a non-profit organisation that depends on sponsorship to create a sustainable and successful event. This year it has multiple sponsors including Maxwell Collins, Piano Bar, McHarry’s Buslines, Courthouse Theatre and Beav’s Bar, to name but a few. Sometimes event organisers hand out promotional Pens featuring the names of sponsors to reciprocate the support they provide.
Those attending the two-day celebration of Jazz and blues can enjoy acts like The Detonators, Checkerboard Lounge, Ezra Lee, Blues Roulette, Sarah Carroll and The Big Fuss and the Royal Garden Jazz Band, among many others. Australian artist, Aaron Pollock will also play. Known for reaching the Blues Challenge Finals in Tennessee at 22, the young musician is now 28 and has produced 10 albums in the studio and received multiple award nominations.
The Geelong Jazz & Blues Festival will be held at various venues around the suburb on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15.
