Good Friday, which falls on Friday 7th April this year, will see the Geelong Racing Club host the standalone event. Along with races throughout the day, there are plenty of fun activities to enjoy such as Makers Market Garden, Furphy Beer Garden and even a Kids Zone for the little racegoers coming along.
Sarah Start, manager of the Geelong Racing Club, has said that this is an unmissable event and is keen to spread the word about it. As Good Friday is still a good month or so away, this gives the club plenty of time to maximise the number of attendees by using flyer printing or poster printing in Geelong:
"It’s going to be a big community experience and we are doing lots of work with the tourism office to push visitation down this way to get people to enjoy the full Easter long weekend down in our region."
During the race day, there will be up to $1.4 million up for grabs across all eight races, and the main 'Country Discovery' race will have $500,000 prize money for those lucky gamblers.
Admission price is $5 and proceeds will go to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.
