The Ironman challenge is scheduled to return to Geelong, Victoria next month.
Competitors will have the opportunity to enjoy beachside views as they race through a historically supportive atmosphere in one of the first events of the season.
Starting with a wave start, athletes will begin with a 1.9km swim in Corio Bay’s calm water, with temperatures averaging around 18 degrees Celsius, on to a 90km cycle of two laps, climbing and sweeping through local roadways. They will finish the challenge with a 21.1km run through the multi-loop course along the waterfront.
Race organisers can make use of local printing services to ensure there is sufficient signage for participants and spectators, as well as eye-catching advertising for the event and its sponsors.
Ironkids will also be returning for 2024 and is open to children aged from seven to thirteen. The seven- to nine-year-olds heat consists of a 50m swim, optional 1km bike ride and a 500m run to finish, while the ten- to thirteen-year-old heat will take on a 100m swim, optional 3km bike ride and wrap up with a 1km run.
The Ironman triathlon will take place on Sunday March 24, 2024, with other events scheduled throughout the weekend based along Corio Bay, Geelong. Interested participants may visit the Ironman website to register as a competitor or volunteer.
