Once again, the Barwon Health Foundation will be hosting the Run 4 Geelong festival, which will provide the local community with a chance to show support for this health service.
Unlike previous years, this November, the event will be hosted virtually. Participants can select from distances of one, five or ten kilometres. Individuals can also participate with their dogs in the Paw Geelong race.
Barwon Health’s health service and hospital is known by the local community for providing emergency care to more than 500,000 people over 22 areas, from Little River to the border of South Australia. In 2020, Barwon Health completed over 21,000 operations, with around 70,000 emergency department admissions. It assisted in the birth of over 2,400 babies and had over 140,179 outpatient appointments.
Ticket prices for the event range from $10 for individuals to $75 for the family. The total participant registration costs will go towards supporting the services of Barwon Health. Individuals can elect which cause they want to support with a choice of Barwon Health’s hospital, its mental health service, the Andrew Love Cancer Centre, the Women’s and Children’s Health Unit and the Care in the Community initiative.
All participants will receive a Run 4 Geelong T-shirt. Promotional Products such as T-Shirts are great souvenirs that assist individuals in remembering key events like this.
