Victoria’s second largest city is getting ready to play host to a major arts and entertainment event in October.
White Night Geelong will be the third Victorian regional spin off of the popular Melbourne event, which typically draws huge crowds who stay on until the early hours of the morning to witness an array of one-off performances and exhibitions.
Victorian Minster for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren officially launched the program for White Night Geelong at a special keynote on September 10. More than 60,000 people are expected to descend on the Bay City’s CBD and waterfront areas to attend around 50 separate performances, installations and other arts projects. Cultural and community events are often promoted with help from flyer printing and poster printing services.
Special exhibitions during White Night will include The Armistice – Victoria Remembers, a digital light projection on the City Hall facade in Gheringhap Street which marks the 100 year anniversary of the end of World War One. There will also be an opera performance at the Peace Memorial as well as a diverse line up of local bands live on stage in the courtyard of The Gordon institute.
The other major Victorian regional centres of Ballarat and Bendigo successfully hosted their own White Nights earlier in the year, following on from the main event in Melbourne in February.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
