The Framing the Figure exhibition is a collection of present-day photography, which consists of both moving and still images. The artists featured use innovative techniques to capture and compose their subjects within the camera frame.
The Geelong Gallery relates the exhibition to the current pandemic circumstances:
“As our perceptions of time continue to be affected by extended periods of lockdown, isolation and uncertainty, this selection of works highlights still photography’s capacity to freeze a moment in time.”
The educators will focus on how the photographers have employed the camera and their use of various light and dark techniques to produce emotive and moving images. Participants will be shown how to recreate particular lighting effects and what to look for to create a striking portrait in their own photographs.
Photographers will often use Business Cards to market their services to interested parties and to exchange contact details for any future works.
The guided tour is a free event, but bookings are essential. It will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5.30pm until 7pm. For more information or to book a place, see the City of Greater Geelong website.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
