The Geelong Gallery is preparing for an exciting new exhibition which will showcase a variety of printmaking techniques.
The 2023 Geelong Acquisitive Print Awards will include a display of submissions by printmakers from around the country who have used both traditional and modern printmaking techniques to create their artworks. Exhibitions such as this one often use brochure printing services to enable them to provide visitors with an overview of the gallery area and the artworks displayed.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Ursula Hoff Institute. Dr Ursula Hoff was an art historian who lectured at the University of Melbourne and later became Assistant Director of the National Gallery of Victoria.
Printmakers who have submitted entries to the exhibition this year include Elizabeth Banfield from Victoria, and Brian Robinson, who grew up on Thursday Island. Banfield creates delicate linocuts and is inspired by Australian Eucalypt trees for her designs, while Robinson produces stunning sculptures and paintings inspired by his traditional heritage in the Torres Strait.
The winner of the 2023 Geelong Acquisitive Print Award will receive $10,000. A second award of $5,000, the Ursula Hoff Institute Award, will also be presented. Award winners will be announced on July 28th.
The print exhibition will be held at the Geelong Gallery, Little Mallop Street, Geelong. It will run from Saturday, July 29 until Sunday, October 8. Entry to the event is free.Get a Free Quote for Print
