Gala program of ballet coming to Geelong

The Australian Ballet will be showcasing its spectacular talents at three concerts in Geelong in late July.

The ballet repertoire will include The Sleeping Beauty Act III by Marius Petipa, Lucas Jervies’ The Vow, and a new piece by Stephanie Lake called Circle Electric. The Sleeping Beauty Act III will focus on the wedding celebrations of the prince and princess from the classic fairytale, while The Vow also has a wedding theme and explores modern romance and some of its obstacles. Well-known companies such as The Australian Ballet often use poster printing to publicise their events within the local area. The tour is being held to celebrate 60 years since the company was established.

The Australian Ballet operates out of Melbourne and is the resident ballet company of both the Arts Centre Melbourne and the Sydney Opera House. It has been touring the country for over 40 years. As well as national touring, the company also travels overseas to showcase its skills.

The Australian Ballet performances will be held at the Geelong Arts Centre Playhouse, 50 Little Malop Street, Geelong. There will be one performance on Friday, 28 July at 7:30pm, and two performances on Saturday, 29 July, one at 1:30pm and one at 7:30pm. Tickets cost $85 for adults and $35 for children. Concession and group booking tickets are also available.
