Fun for all ages at 2015 Myer Christmas Window display

The magic of Christmas has been put on display at the Myer store in Geelong, Victoria.

The inspirational display features an element of animation in a theme that brings to life popular children’s Christmas book characters.

Geelong Mayor Darryn Lyons praised the attraction, which he believed to be better than ever and something kids of all ages would enjoy.

According to the Mayor, November and December are a time of year when shoppers were surrounded by festive images of Christmas, and Postcards and featured displays such as the one at Myer added to the festivities and brought the season to life, especially for the children.

The Mayor said the city was gaining a national reputation as a key Christmas capital, and the Myer Christmas Windows contributed greatly to Geelong’s festive trail.

The November launch of Myer’s window featured performances of Christmas carol, while the marketing elves from Central Geelong kept the crowd amused.

Featured on Brochures and Flyers throughout the centre, the Myer Christmas Window this year is a joint project by Westfield Geelong, Central Geelong Marketing and the City of Greater Geelong.

Beth King, Chair of the Central Geelong Marketing Committee, said families had an opportunity to create an annual tradition to visit the Myer Christmas Windows in Geelong each year.

She said such a tradition already exists in Melbourne City, where visits to the Christmas displays in windows have been going on for 60 years.
