This year, the Geelong Seniors Festival will take place online with a series of virtual events due to coronavirus restrictions.
The festival is the biggest celebration of seniors in the regional area of Victoria, and the theme for 2020 is ‘In the Groove’. Online events lined up include music, comedy, history, health workshops and even online croquet and bowls exercises.
‘Groovy Laughter – Yoga in a Chair’ is being held throughout October and gives seniors an opportunity to laugh and understand how laughter can have a positive effect on both physical and mental wellbeing. The Zoom class will also assist seniors with breathing and balance exercises.
An online disco ‘Guru Dudu’ is suitable for all the family, and is the perfect place to let inhibitions go and learn choreographed dances, freestyle dance and play games.
Seniors will also have the opportunity to learn new skills and take part in workshops, including how to access digital material on Trove, the National Library of Australia’s online catalogue, and how to access free music, documentaries and online music magazines.
Virtual tours of the Geelong Botanic Gardens and a series of ‘Memories Through Music’ events will also feature in the festival on a variety of dates across the month.
Festivals like this often employ the Graphic Design Services to ensure effective and eye-catching marketing campaigns.
