Geelong will once again be the place to go to experience and enjoy the best of Australia’s beer supplied by brewers from Australia-wide. For the fifth time the Great Australian Beer Festival will be open for beer, cocktails, wine, ciders as well as food and entertainment.
There will be a beer hall exclusively offering international beers for tasting. This has become an annual event, and children’s activities and other entertainment will also be on offer.
Bars and lounges will offer hundreds of beers and ciders to suit all tastes. Pop up stalls staffed by gourmet food makers will offer a variety of food and three stages will be broadcasting around 20 live performers, including the Potbelleez, Jon Toogood and Richard Clapton. Other activities include a beer cabaret, costume races and the annual competition for keg rollers to pit their skills against each other. There will also be a number of interactive seminars presented by experts in the industry, providing information as well as tasting. For those serious about their beer, stall holders will be likely to have Flyers for repeat purchases later.
The Beer Festival can be enjoyed on Saturday 18th February from 12.00pm to 8.00pm at the Geelong Racecourse, on 99 Breakwater Road, at Breakwater. Entry is open to all, but children up to 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult as this event is fully licensed.
