The Great Moscow Circus was introduced to Australia for the first time in 1965 by Eric Edgley. This year, Edgley Attractions is bringing the circus back to Australia for its 50th Anniversary Tour.
The show will tour 80 cities throughout Australia over a three-year period, with residents living in and near Geelong, Victoria able to enjoy the show in August and September.
The family at the heart of Edgley Attractions has been producing film and theatrical entertainment shows for generations, with Michael Edgley now heading the family business.
Entertainers at the circus will include Russian performers and other international acts. While circuses have changed over the years with less emphasis on tricks by exotic animals, there will be many exciting acts under the Big Top, suitable for the whole family. These will include the obligatory clowns, acrobats, horses, trapeze artists, tightrope performers, and many more in a two-hour show. Food will be available for purchase.
Banner printing and poster printing are likely to be on display for the event, as well as Flyers and Signs across the area to highlight this landmark year.
The circus will be erected at the Corner of Rossack Drive and Princess Highway in Waurn Ponds, Geelong from Thursday, August 25 to Sunday, September 11. A number of seating options are available and concession prices can be found.
