Braeside music lovers are set for a treat when Australian rock band Stonefield take centre stage at the Kingston Harvest Festival.
The Festival, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, provides a focus on country, rockabilly and bluegrass music for the enjoyment of families throughout the City of Kingston.
Marketing services, including poster printing, have been enlisted to advertise the event, which Mayor of Kingston Tamsin Bearsley said will provide a range of entertainment delights for all ages.
She said band Stonefield, which consists of four sisters from the small Victorian rural town of Darraweit Guim, had just returned from a highly successful tour of the United States. Since taking out top spot in the 2010 Triple J Unearthed High contest, the band has been in big demand on the festival circuit worldwide.
The programme will also feature The Ian Archibald Band and The Age Hall of Fame musician Mick Thomas, along with acoustic performances by local artists at the Jam Café.
The Mayor said there will be something for everyone at this year’s Harvest Festival, which is held to celebrate the autumn harvest. The programme will include non-stop entertainment, children’s activities, food and a Green Hub, at which visitors can learn about the latest ideas in sustainable living practices.
The Harvest Festival will be held at Bicentennial Park in Chelsea on May 7, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
