The event, which traditionally sparks flyer and banner printing to ensure everyone knows its location at Peter Scullin Reserve, is set to present a big line-up of talented performers including The Black Sorrows with Joe Camilleri, as well as Electric Fields and many more.
Mayor of Kingston Steve Staikos said:
“Mordi Fest will be bigger and better than ever this year – we’ve got a vibrant and eclectic programme packed with something for absolutely everybody.”
To complement the live performances on stage, the event will feature a wide selection of Melbourne’s most popular restaurants and mobile food vans, which will present matched drink and food packages.
Among them will be The Smoke Pit and Big Pig Little Pig, the BBQ specialists.
Those attending will also get an opportunity to boogie during a late afternoon of funky tunes being presented by local DJs at the popular Jam Café.
Mayor Staikos added:
“This is our flagship event, providing visitors with fantastic musicians, up-and-coming bands and the best gourmet food, regionally-made wines and boutique beer Melbourne has to offer.”
Mordi Fest, to be held this weekend (March 3 and 4) is a no-dog and no-BYO (bring your own) festival with a family friendly focus. It is expected to draw a crowd in excess of 40,000 over the two days.
Entry is $5 a family or $2 a person.
