Keen runners and walkers from Box Hill South should head to central Melbourne on Sunday July 15th for the annual The Age Run Melbourne. The event includes a half marathon, a 10-kilometre run and a 5km walk or run and is suitable for all types of athletes from walkers to serious runners. A shorter fun run for children will be held the previous day.
The event, which was first held in 1994, takes place around central Melbourne, starting and finishing in Federation Square. A three-day fitness expo will take place around the event.
Participants can choose to run in order to raise money for any charity they want. Last year runners raised more than $1million for various charities.
The organisers help runners to raise money by providing an online fundraising presence, but to boost their charity’s money further, participants could consider Print advertising to help with their fundraising efforts.
Flyer printing and poster printing could be used to create promotional Posters asking people to donate money to the runner, which could be distributed at local businesses and shops. These could also be used to give a little more information about the charity that is being supported.
On race day, supporters might like to stand out from the crowd by using banner printing to show their support for their chosen runner. Banners are easy to see and could give vital encouragement during those last hard kilometres.
