Work on the project is due to begin soon following the City of Whitehorse recently awarding the contract to Buxton Construction. The Buxton Construction Logo Design has been displayed on many major building projects across Victoria since it was first established in the 1960s.
Mayor Andrew Davenport said the new car park will contain five levels of parking for 562 vehicles as well as bicycle parking. An appealing plaza entry and dedicated community space have also been included in the design which will adjoin Pioneer Park.
Councillor Davenport said that Buxton Construction were award-winning builders and had undertaken many public and private sector projects. He added:
“We are looking forward to bringing to fruition Council’s vision to transform the old Harrow Street Car Park into an attractive and light-filled building that will provide flexible, accessible and safe car parking opportunities for workers, shoppers and other visitors, while enhancing the commercial sustainability and vibrancy of Box Hill Central.”
On completion, which is expected in mid-2019, the project will have created 271 more car parking places for visitors to the area.
Councillor Davenport said that while the construction works on the new car park were being carried out, the Cambridge Street car park opposite would remain available to motorists as it will continue to operate until the new car parking facilities open next year.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
