Library goes digital to keep Box Hill South reading

Box Hill South residents will have a wide variety of reading material thanks to the Whitehorse Manningham Libraries’ home delivery service.

While the libraries are temporarily closed due to current circumstances, they are still providing home delivery, access to e-collections, and online services and programs.

All residents of the Whitehorse City Council area are able to access one free home delivery every four weeks and items available for delivery include Books, audio Books, magazines, DVDs and CDs. Each borrower has the option to loan up to 20 items per month.

While library facilities such as printing services and computers will be unavailable, the home delivery service will ensure residents are able to access entertainment and educational items.

If residents have items to return to the library, the courier is also able to collect these and return them to the library while delivering your Books.

For those unsure of which items are available at the library, access to an online catalogue is available through the Whitehorse Manningham Libraries website, or you are able to call and speak to a member of library staff.

Library card holders with access to the internet can take advantage of digital collections – these include hundreds of recent releases and Books by best-selling authors.

A link to the user-friendly app is available on the website and allows members to download eBooks as required, as well as offering the opportunity to read hundreds of different magazines and newspapers at no cost.
