Climate change on the agenda in Box Hill

Business owners looking to work with progressive companies can find out more at a special presentation in Box Hill this month.

The meeting, which has been organised by Eastern Climate Action Melbourne, will inform business owners how they can move away from financial backers and other partners that invest in fossil fuels, and work with other companies that try to lessen the risks of climate change.

The guest speaker will be Dr John Hewson, who will talk about his work on climate change and the opportunities for businesses that are interested in working to reduce negative environmental impact.

Dr Hewson is a former leader of the Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition, and worked as an economist for the Australian Treasury of the Reserve Bank, as well as advising treasurers.

Several companies working in this area, including banks and power providers, will also be present at the event offering participants the chance to find out more about their work and the areas they are investing in as they move away from fossil fuels.

Attendees from Box Hill South may also like to use business card printing, to ensure they can easily pass on their details to potential new partners.

The event takes place on Wednesday, May 13th at Box Hill Town Hall from 6.30pm. Places should be booked in advance by contacting Eastern Climate Action Melbourne.
