With the long summer holidays stretching out ahead, parents might like to book their children in for some fun activities at the City of Whitehorse libraries after Christmas.
The libraries are running a series of craft workshops, story sessions, and puppet theatres to keep school children entertained during the break.
For Box Hill South residents, the local library is offering two craft sessions and a visit from the puppet theatre. On Wednesday, January 9, children can make beaded safety pin brooches and ornaments and, on Wednesday, January 16, there is the chance to make Chinese Lantern photo frames. If the frames are a success, parents could consider using a printing company to Print a family photograph in which to display.
On Wednesday, January 23, the ‘Don’t Move’ Puppet Theatre will perform ‘The Wizards Tale’. The performance is suitable for children aged between 4 – 10 years old. The craft sessions are for children aged 7 - 12.
For different events, including a bedtime story time, cupcake making and mosaics, it might be worth considering heading out to one of the area’s other libraries at Nunawading, Bulleen, Vermont South, Doncaster, The Pines or Blackburn.
The libraries will also be running the regular story times during the holidays with sessions suitable for babies up to five-years-old.
Bookings for the summer holiday programme are open now and can be made at any library branch. There is a small charge for each activity and early booking is recommended, as places can fill quickly. For more information, visit the Whitehorse Manningham libraries website.Get a Free Quote for Print
