Chance to support cancer charity in Box Hill

Box Hill South residents have the chance to enjoy a morning out and raise money for charity later this month.

The Box Hill Community Arts Centre is holding a Biggest Morning Tea event to raise money for cancer research and support. The events, which run across Australia, are one of the Cancer Council’s biggest annual fundraising efforts.

The Cancer Council funds research into treatment and prevention, backs increased education and prevention programmes, and supports people fighting cancer and those caring for them. The organisation is funded from donations and fundraising events, including the Biggest Morning Tea and Relay for Life.

The Arts Centre morning tea is also part of Whitehorse City Council’s Fair Trade Fortnight, and will serve Fair Trade coffee and tea along with tasty biscuits. Entertainment and spot prizes mean the event will make an enjoyable morning with friends, family, or even a social club.

Poster printing is a good low-cost way to promote charity events, whether Box Hill South residents choose to advertise the council-organised event, or even to hold their own morning tea to support the charity.

The Arts Centre morning tea takes place on Thursday, 22nd May at the centre in Station Street, Box Hill, and starts at 10.30am. Guests should contact the centre by Thursday, 15th May to reserve their place. Entry is by donation at the door.
