Businesses in Box Hill South and throughout the City of Whitehorse are being invited to participate in the latest Interns in Industry Programme.
The initiative was formerly known as the Whitehorse Tertiary Business Skills Programme and it has been described by Mayor Bill Bennett as providing an opportunity for both businesses and interns alike. He added:
“It is an opportunity for businesses to connect with and utilise the skills and insights of Deakin University Business School students. It gives students the perfect opportunity to get real-life business experience, while businesses receive value from the up-to-date knowledge and skills students bring to their internship with them.”
Interns can gain valuable experience and participate in many areas of a business such as retailing and the design and distribution of Promotional Products.
The unpaid internship programme is held annually from July to September and is extremely competitive. Businesses that have an interest in taking part are invited to two information sessions that will also be attended by Deakin Business School representatives who will provide information about the Interns in Industry Programme.
Attendees will be able to liaise one-on-one and have any questions answered. The information sessions, for which bookings are essential, will take place on March 13 at the Whitehorse Civic Centre’s Waratah Room, and on April 3 at the Knox Civic Centre in Wantirna.
