Australian economy to be discussed in Box Hill South

Business owners from Box Hill South will be given the opportunity to hear expert analysis of the country’s economy later this month.

Gerard Burg, senior economist with the National Australian Bank, will be speaking at a business breakfast, with a talk entitled State of the Nation.

The event has been organised by the National Australian Bank and the Whitehorse Business Group, which works with the city council to develop business initiatives.

Mr Burg specialises in analysing industry and has extensive experience in researching regions and various industries, including the mining and retail sectors both in Australia and abroad. He has Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Commerce and previously worked as an economist for the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics.

Although the subjects he will be discussing are complex, Mr Burg has a reputation for explaining complicated trends and concepts in a way that makes them easily understandable for business owners. He is also expected to talk about how the economy as a whole can affect individual businesses.

As well as hearing first-hand how the economy is faring, the event will be a good opportunity for Box Hill South entrepreneurs to spend time with each other and strengthen local business links. Good quality business card printing is a must in these situations to ensure a professional image is presented.

The breakfast will be held on Wednesday June 19th at the Box Hill Golf Club, starting at 7:00am. Tickets can be booked through the Whitehorse Business Group’s website.
