Fans of classic rock in the Slacks Creek area may be keen to sign up for Creedence – The John Fogerty Show in February. These kinds of local musical events are often advertised to the community by Flyers that are designed in Print shops.
John Fogerty was the American frontman of rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, and is viewed as an all-round singer, songwriter and guitairist. The band originally consisted of John, his brother Tom (rhythm guitairist), Stu Cook (bassist) and Doug Clifford (drummer). The group disbanded in 1972 over musical differences, but not before having a string of well-loved hits, including ‘Proud Mary’, ‘Bad Moon Rising’ and ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain?’ After disbandment, Fogerty went on to have a solo career where his hits included ‘The Old Man Down the Road’ and ‘Centerfield’.
In addition, fans at the tribute event will be treated to a support act in the form of OZ ZZ TOP, who will be playing some of ZZ TOP’s greatest hits, including ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ and ‘Gimme All Your Loving’. It is an evening designed to get fans singing and dancing along to the classic rock sounds from the American south in the 60s and 70s.
Creedence - The John Fogerty Show takes place on Saturday, February 11, from 6.30 until 10pm. The venue is The Logan Entertainment Centre, 170 Wembley Road, Logan Central, QLD 4114. Tickets cost from $32.
