Fans of culturally-flavoured pop music in the Slacks Creek and Logan vicinity might be keen to buy tickets for the BNS show in June.
BNS is the moniker for the Sri-Lankan pop duo consisting of Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman. BNS have been successful for over twenty years at home in Sri Lanka, with more than fifty number-one singles, six successful albums and many film soundtracks. Mixing Tamil, Sinhala and English rap, interspersed with Hindi rap.
To date, BNS have performed in excess of 1,500 concerts, both at home and internationally, including their own series of concerts, the latest being launched in 2019 and called “Oba Nisa – Celebrating 20 Years of Music.” Poster and banner printing is a common way to attract potential fans to upcoming shows in the area.
The duo were the first Sri Lankan artists to have a recording contract with Sony BMG. Other accolades include performing at the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup opening ceremony and being winners of the award for outstanding contribution to the Sri Lankan Music Industry in 2012. In 2022, the duo put their talent to good use as judges on The Voice, Sri Lanka.
The BNS Show takes place on 17th June at 6.30pm at the Logan Entertainment Centre, 170 Wembley Road, Logan Central. Tickets cost from $65.
