Nominations for the Logan Eco Awards open

The Logan Eco Awards incentivise environmental action within the community from both individuals and organisations and nominations for this year’s awards are now open.

These awards were introduced to recognise members and businesses in the community that help Logan become a more environmentally friendly city. Winners are awarded a cash prize of $250 and public recognition as an environmental leader in the community.

Logan is a large city comprising of many suburbs, residential and industrial, but every suburb is invited to compete, so whether the competitor is from Slacks Creek or Daisy Hill, they have a shot at winning one of the awards.

There are four different categories. There is the ‘Eco Champion’ award, which is open to all City of Logan residents, the ‘Junior Eco Champion’ award, which is open to school age residents.

As well as this, there is the ‘Eco Business’ prize, which is open to any local business that has moved to restore or facilitate the natural environment and the ‘Eco Organisation’ award, which is open to all not-for-profit organisations including environmental groups or community groups.

Most businesses and organisations don’t worry about the impact they have on the environment but something as simple as using eco-friendly Corporate Gifts and energy saving lightbulbs could help improve their eco-footprint. More endeavours like this could put them in the running for an award, which could boost their brand image and give them valued brand exposure.

Nominations close on 29th of March.
