Logans best bartender 2021 named

The White House in Waterford has made a clean sweep in Logan’s best bartender awards for 2021, taking out the main prize and runner up.

Monte Ale House at Slacks Creek was once of four other locations to receive a special mention in the national competition, for which TV chef Matt Preston was the host.

Following the tally of community votes, Leigh Mitchell, one of the owners and chief ‘mixologist’ for The White House of Waterford, was crowned Logan’s best bartender 2021 in recognition of his popular cocktails with a local flavour. His travel-inspired and constantly updated diverse cocktail list features such unusual flavours as chilli schnapps and Sichuan pepper, alongside both classics and original recipes, always with a local twist.

The venue’s bar manager, Chris Chow, was named runner-up in the competition. Other leading bartenders as reported by Quest News were Laura Corlyon from the Logan Village Hotel, endorsed for her fun and friendly vibe; supporter of the live music scene Dean Forte from the Monkey Tree Brewing Company at Underwood; Thomas Scherf from the Monte Ale House at Slacks Creek who can be counted on to deliver an impressive drinks repertoire with cheer; and Chris Waters from Christopher’s Fine Food.

With a great bartender line-up in place, venues just need to find an effective way to promote local entertainment destinations, and flyer printing companies are on hand to help.
