Deputy Premier of Queensland Steven Miles said that during the next one to two years, a record investment of $200 million will be made by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) in the state's south east alone. Project types will range from complex building works to enabling works, and will require expenditures of between $500,000 to $20 million in property developments.
Miles said the works will support 650 jobs in construction and see an investment in the private sector of over $1 billion, and he added:
“The recently announced delivery of a new research and manufacturing facility at Northshore for Vaxxas to produce over 300 million needle-free vaccines a year is just one example of an innovative project that EDQ will be seeking open market Expressions of Interest for this year."
The Deputy Premier also said the opportunities presented by the list of projects planned is not just limited to participation by large companies, but many others as well, including small businesses, businesses boosting scale and capability and indigenous businesses.
