The ImagiNation Children’s Festival is set to take place in Slacks Creek during the September-October school holidays.
Organised by the City of Logan, more than 170 events will take place at venues throughout the city. The festival aims to provide a wide variety of free or low-cost activities for children and parents or carers over the holiday period.
Taking place at Tygum Lagoon on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September will be a workshop to learn basic shore-fishing skills such as rod casting and knot tying. For those interested in art, there will be workshops and artist talks at Logan Art Gallery.
There are opportunities to learn about the symbols and stories in Aboriginal art and screen printing at Yugambeh Museum in Beenleigh on 25th September. For those who love drawing there is a Sidewalk Art Challenge with opportunity for lots of chalk drawing at Loganlea Community Centre on 26th September.
On Saturday 29th September, children can get down and dirty with the Muddy Wonderland Dance party at Underwood Park in Priestdale. There are cooking classes, dance classes, swimming classes, roller skating, knee boarding and kayaking. As well as this, there are storytime sessions, games and activities in the library after dark.
