Carroll was a nurse for twenty years before turning to the comedy circuit. Born in the UK, she worked for twenty years on the healthcare frontline before swapping her scrubs for a live audience.
Her comedy, naturally enough, draws on her nursing experiences, and has also given birth to a nominated podcast, called The Swab, along with a book, called Off The Charts, which has since been nominated for a humour writing prize.
Her current show, Sista Flo 2.0, has enjoyed sold-out performances across Australia, as well as an appearance at the coveted Edinburgh Fringe festival. Her routine also won her Best Comedy Show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Reviews of her performance include (from The Age):
“Rollicking, riotous comedy”
Of the podcast, a reviewer said:
“Had me in stitches! Every nurse out there will relate to the hilarious antics and observations of Georgie and her guests. A must listen.”
