Libraries are valuable resources in the community, and children and teenagers living in and around Slacks Creek are able to show up at their local library to study in peace, with help available if required.
Logan Central Library has been at its current location since 2011. As it is next to the Logan Central Plaza, it has good public transport options, and in the modern building, there are private study areas and plenty of computers with internet access and sockets for charging devices. Parking is also available, and users can also have access to DVDs, audiobooks and eBooks.
Children and teenagers can sometimes find it difficult to focus on homework in their home environment, which is why the twice-a-week homework help sessions can prove very useful for students and their carers. Not every child has access to a suitable working space where they live, and getting into the routine of working straight after school, especially with people around who can offer some help and guidance, may be a lifeline for many.
Often, the library will be host to many other events that are often advertised by means of local printing services.
The Homework Help Sessions start on 22 January at 3.30pm until 4.45pm. They take place every Monday and Thursday during term time, and the venue is The Study, Logan Central Library, 26 Wilbur Street, Logan Central, QLD 4114. Bookings are not required.
