Come along and meet successful author Nick Earls

Nick Earls is a popular and successful author and is coming to Sunnybank Hills Library this July. He writes short stories, plays, and novels for children and young adults and his work has been published by printing companies throughout the world.

Northern Ireland-born Earls moved to Brisbane when aged only nine. He calls Brisbane his hometown and uses the city as the setting for the majority of his works. Many of the Books he has written have received awards and he is highly respected within the literary world. ‘Zig Zag Street’ was his second venture into novel-writing, published in 1996 and winning the Betty Trask Award two years later, and ’48 Shades of Brown’ claimed the title of ‘Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award’ for older readers back in 2000. A number of Earls’ novels have also had film and theatre adaptations.

Nick Earls is extremely popular all over Australia but especially so in Queensland. He is now providing the people of Sunnybank Hills, and nearby areas such as Slacks Creek, with the chance to come along and meet him. At this meeting he will give a short presentation about his writing career and his most recent novel, ‘Welcome to Normal’, which is due to be released in July.
